Ed Ripley, founder of Ripley Stainless has been innovating with stainless steel through his company since 1979. Ed has created many things – some more unusual than others, such as a stunner of a pool with custom built stainless pieces put together like a stainless steel tank. He came up with the idea 18 years ago when looking to install a pool for his family – an unusually large family – for their house in the country. In researching materials for construction Ed quickly realized that there were benefits to a stainless steel pool that would be more advantageous than tile or concrete. One of the major benefits is that aesthetically, swimming pools made of stainless yield colours that are more vibrant than standard pools – with deep blues and silvery tones reflecting off the steel when the light changes.
